March 24th 2010: Shakespeare Around Town
Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 2:22PM We are still more than four months away from our production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' but if you are dying to see some Shakespeare now, there are a couple of shows from great companies in the area.
Northwest Classical Theatre Company is currently running a production of "Love's Labour's Lost" at the Shoebox Theatre in Portland. NWCTC does great Shakespeare, especially for those of you who appreciate productions with a sharp focus on language and story--as they say, "content over concept."
Further, two of the actors from our upcoming production will be in the show. Christy Drogosh, who will be playing Titania in our production this summer, is playing Rosaline. Andy Lee-Hillstrom, who many of you saw play Touchstone in our production of "As You Like It" last year and who will be playing Puck for us this year, is playing Costard.
The show runs through April 18th, so book tickets now. For more information, go to http://www.nwctc.org/.
In addition, on April 6th, 'Othello' opens at Artist's Repertory Theatre, another excellent Portland company. The cast includes Nathan Dunkin as the Duke of Venice and Gratiano. Nathan will be playing Bottom in our summer production. More information is available at http://www.artistsrep.org/onstage/2009---2010-season/othello.aspx.
I hope you have the opportunity to attend these plays and that we see you at "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in August!
